ASHVILLE, Ala. – Hanceville hit the road to take on the Bulldogs of Ashville Friday night and was sent home with a 38-14 loss. Ashville built an early lead in the first half and by the time Hanceville began to find the end zone, it was too late to mount a comeback.
Ashville jumped on top 7-0 in the first quarter, but it was the second quarter where the home team began to create separation. Ashville tacked on a pair of touchdowns and knocked through a field goal just before the half to take a 24-0 lead into the locker room at the break.
Hanceville got on the board in the third quarter to cut the lead to 24-6 but Ashville answered and got the points back with another scoring drive that made it a 31-6 game going into the fourth quarter. Both teams found the end zone in the final frame, but Hanceville wasn’t able to continue chipping away, falling on the road 38-14. The Bulldogs fall to 1-7 on the season with the loss and have a non-region matchup with Section at home next week.
