Robert Francis Duffy was born in Brooklyn, NY June 18, 1936. He transitioned to Eternal Life Oct. 10, 2020 at home in Blountsville, AL.
His funeral Mass will be Friday morning, Oct. 16, 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Burial afterwards in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening, Oct. 15, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. followed by Rosary at 7:30 p.m., all in Sacred Heart Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Cullman, AL, Attn: Robert Duffy’s charities.
Bob was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and businessman. He specialized in economic development bringing new business even from other countries to Long Island and Nashville in the interests of the regions of the utility companies for which was employed. He was extremely outgoing and had a great sense of humor, loved everyone and everyone seemed to love him back. He was always kind and compassionate to all. He loved sailing, golf, Golden Retrievers and Notre Dame football from which university he was a graduate, and his father before him, and son after him.
He was the last surviving of his parents and two sisters.
He will be greatly missed by his devoted wife, Karen of 48 years; beloved and loving son, Robert F. Duffy, Jr., of Fredericksburg, Va. and his wife, Amanda Duffy; four grandchildren, Michael, 15, Bridget ,13, Mary, 9, and Lucy, 6. He is also survived by in-laws, cousins, and nieces and nephews from coast to coast.
