OXFORD, Ala. – Arab made the long trip to Oxford to face the Yellow Jackets in an important region matchup Thursday night and even though the Knights had generated some momentum coming into this week’s matchup, it wasn’t enough to overcome Oxford and they were sent home with a 42-14 loss.

Arab fell behind 7-0 early but responded with a scoring drive to tie things up at 7 in the first quarter. The game was tied going into the second quarter, but the Yellow Jackets tacked on a pair of touchdowns in the period to take a 21-7 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Oxford began to create more separation in the second half, pulling ahead 28-7 in the third quarter but the Knights were able to muster another response and cut the deficit to 28-14. However, the Yellow Jackets found the end zone once more to make it a 35-14 game going into the fourth quarter.

Oxford added another touchdown in the final frame to put the game out of reach and secure a 42-14 win over Arab. The loss drops the Knights to 4-4 on the season and they’ll be off next week before traveling to play Springville Oct. 23.
