CULLMAN, Ala. – The residents and staff of Westminster Assisted Living capped off a weeklong celebration of National Assisted Living Week with a family car parade Friday afternoon. The residents were thrilled to come out and see their families and loved ones, even if it was from a distance. Cars were brightly decorated with colorful balloons, signs, flowers and streamers as the parade made its way around the driveway of the facility.

Director Wanda Raines and the staff at Westminster added even more special activities during the week, from ice cream socials, movie and popcorn nights and special themed days.

Deannie Geiger, who looked lovely as always Friday afternoon, spoke about the pajama day and funny hair days they had.

Said Geiger, “They kept us busy; they always do, and we had a lot of fun.”

The residents also painted rocks, some with words of inspiration. The rocks are displayed outside the Westminster facility.
