CULLMAN, Ala. – A Cullman Middle School student was arrested Thursday for allegedly bringing a 9mm handgun and ammunition to school.
Cullman Police Chief Kenny Culpepper confirmed a male student was arrested Thursday morning before classes began.
“The School Resource Officer and the staff got a tip, and they found it and the kid was arrested,” said Culpepper. “We’ve put an extra officer there, but there is no further threat.”
The student has not been identified as he is a minor.
“It’s under investigation,” said Culpepper, “but we don’t feel like there is any continuing threat.”
