John D. Wilhite, 93, of Vinemont, Alabama passed away Sunday, Aug. 30, 2020. John D was born Feb. 1, 1927 to Roscoe and Beulah Wiley Wilhite. He is preceded in death by his parents along with five sisters and five brothers.
John D. served in the Navy during World War II. He then worked for the railroad for 45 years, missing only two days during this time, and for the Cullman County School Board for eight years. John D. was a long time member of the Vinemont Church of Christ.
John D. is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy Teague Wilhite; daughters Charlene Corley (Tammy) and Jacklene Davis (Mark); sons John Michael Wilhite (Glenda) and Tom Alan Wilhite (Kathy); grandchildren Kayla Hill (Johnathan), Wade Wilhite (Stacy), Johnnie Sue Danie Lockett, Robert Davis (Marisa), Brittney Manning (Adam) and Bethany Paris (Ethan); 11 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and best friend Jimmy Jennings.
A visitation for John D. will be held Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at Moss-Service Funeral Home. A celebration of life funeral service will occur Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020 at 4 p.m. with interment to follow at Flint Creek Cemetery.
