Peacefully and surrounded by her family, Thelma Hicks Arnold passed away Saturday, Aug. 22 at the age of 95 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son Doug (Melissa); grandchildren Daxon, Whitney, Forrest, and Julie; five great-grandchildren; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Herbert; son Elwin; grandson Frank; brothers James and Oliver; sister June; and her parents Charles and Henrietta Hicks.
Thelma was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Cullman, where she made many lifelong friendships, was known for her awesome cooking and beautiful garden, and played a mean golf game, too! She was an extremely loving and doting mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who, along with her late husband, served as model examples of hard work ethic and genuine Christian values. Her down-to-earth, sweet nature touched everyone who knew her and we’re so grateful God blessed us with her life.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Cullman City Cemetery, 821 Lessman Circle SW, Cullman, AL 35055.
Memorial donations in Thelma’s name may be made to the Humane Society at www.humanesociety.org.
