Robert Talmadge Harris of Cullman passed away Aug. 12, 2020 at the age of 96. He was born Feb. 24, 1924 in Welti to Vesta Pope and Alpha Sophronia Goodson Harris.
On Dec. 7, 1946, Robert married the love of his life, Frances Scruggs Harris.
He is preceded in death by his wife; parents Daddy Ves and Mama Harris; sisters Eleanor (WT) Bonner and Mildred (Leonard) Bonner; brother Raymond (Helen) Harris; grandson Janzen Easterwood; and son-in-law Keith Easterwood.
Robert is survived by his daughters Janie Easterwood and Robin (Marty) Boyles; sons Gary (Linda) Harris and Jeff (Cindy) Harris; sisters Earline “Polly” (Charles) Armstrong, Ruth Duke and Sue Bice; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Robert’s faith-filled life, humble spirit and love for family leaves a legacy for our Family of Faith!
The family received friends Friday, Aug. 14, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church. The celebration of Mr. Harris’ life will be Saturday, Aug. 15, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church. He will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in Welti Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery.
