Obituary: Jackie Malone Camp

Jackie Malone Camp, 68, of Vinemont, Alabama passed away Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2020 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.

Bro. Jackie was a loving husband, Daddy and Papi. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He accepted his call to preach in 1976 and began pastoring in 1977 at Oak Grove First Congregational Methodist Church and later began pastoring Liberty First Congregational Methodist Church. He was involved with the FCM Church Conference and served in several leadership roles including Secretary, Vice President, and President. For over 50 years, Jackie worked as a wholesale grocery sales representative for Worth Ratliff Grocery and WL Petrey. In his spare time, he enjoyed mowing the lawn, swimming with his grandkids, and grilling out.

He was preceded in death by parents Cooper Clarence and Wonnie Lene Moon Camp; father and mother-in-law Barney “Junior” and Pauline Smith; and brother-in-law Dale Smith.

Survivors include his wife Connie Smith Camp; daughters Stephanie (Justin) Burden and Rebecca (Sam) Gregory; grandchildren Bradley Burden, Kyle Burden, Brylee Gregory and Ava Gregory; sisters Diane (James) Makemson, Denice (George) Banister and Bettina (Marty) Green; brother Larry (Rita) Camp; sisters-in-law Melissa (Johnny) Smith and Denise Smith; brother-in-law Mike (Sandra) Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.

The family received friends at the funeral home Friday, Aug. 14, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be in the chapel of Moss Service Funeral Home at 2 pm. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2020. Burial will be in Flint Creek Cemetery.
