Mrs. Dorothy Bates Hancock, 87, of Vinemont, Alabama passed away Monday, Aug. 3, 2020. Mrs. Hancock was born June 22, 1933 in Cullman, Alabama to Robert Lem and Mamie Trimble Bates.
Mrs. Hancock is survived by daughter Brenda (Marlin) Jennings; sons Ronnie (Mary) Hancock and Mike (Lendy) Hancock; sister Viva Johnson; brothers Robert (Janice) Bates and Frank (Vivian) Bates; grandchildren Rusty (Jyme) Jennings, Randy (Alicia) Jennings, Jeremy Morrison, Keisha Schuster, Kiel (Lorie) Hancock, Chase (Brandi) Hancock, Abbie Hancock, Matt Hancock, and Brianna (David) De La Cruz; great-grandchildren Devan Jennings, Carson Jennings, Caden Jennings, Colton Jennings, Ben Grimett, Sophia Schuster, Sebrina Schuster, Dominic Schuster, Oliver Schuster, Kennedi Hancock, Cohen Hancock and Sebastian De La Cruz; and great-great-grandchild Weston Morrison.
Mrs. Hancock was preceded in death by her husband Sherrel Edward Hancock; sister Myrtle Hendrix; and brothers Grady Bates, Billy Bates, Jack Bates, Thad Bates, Terry Bates, and infant Henry Bates.
A celebration of life graveside service for Mrs. Hancock will be held Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Cullman City Cemetery.
