CULLMAN, Ala. – Candidates who qualified for municipal elections coming up Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020, as reported by officials of Cullman County’s municipalities, are as follows. Unopposed incumbents are not listed.

Baileyton

Mayoral candidates:

  • Incumbent – Johnny Dyar
  • Challenger – Windell Calloway

Council candidates:

Place 1

  • Dewayne Sumner (unopposed, running in place of his father Gene Sumner, who is stepping down)

Place 2 (Incumbent Windell Calloway running for mayor.)

  • Deborah Moon
  • Roy Shedd

Place 3

  • Incumbent – Wendell Peterson
  • Challenger – Randy Gaines

Place 4

  • Incumbent – Myra Martin
  • Challenger – Benny Guthrie

Place 5

  • Incumbent – Greg Griffin
  • Challenger – Pat Dyar

Berlin

All incumbents re-qualified except Council Place 5, Bud Reed, who is stepping down. Keith Hardman qualified for that place. All candidates are unopposed.

 

Colony

Mayoral candidates:  

  • Incumbent – Donnis Leeth
  • Challenger – Curtis Johnson

Council candidates:

  • Eric Carwell (In place of incumbent Melvin Hammond, who is stepping down for health reasons)
