On Sunday, July 19, 2020, Margaret Ann Connors Akin, 89, while being lovingly cared for at Hanceville Nursing Home and Rehab Center for three years, went to join her husband of 49 years, William E. Akin, in Heaven.
Mrs. Akin was born in Massachusetts and came to Alabama after serving in the United States Air Force and meeting her husband. While living here, Aunt Marge used her musical ability to sing in her church choirs such as Sacred Heart Catholic Church Choir in Cullman, Alabama, and to sing as a member of Harmony Hills Sweet Adelines for many years.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband William E. Akin; parents John and Ann Connors; in-laws J.A. and Irene Akin; sister-in-law Peggy Akin Peed; and her brother and sister-in-law John and Mary Connors.
She is survived by her brother-in-law Gary (Linda) Akin and a host of nieces and nephews.
