CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman Elks Lodge and Jack Aces Riding Club on Saturday teamed up for the fifth year to spread a little Christmas cheer. The Christmas in July event raises money for Cullman Caring for Kids and collects toys for less fortunate kids in Cullman County. The event had raised $540 and a table of new toys by early Saturday afternoon.

This year’s participation was down, but it was expected.

Jack Aces President Derrick Barton said, “With the virus and all that’s going on, we are happy with the number of riders we did have.”

Approximately 30 bikes departed from the Elks Lodge Saturday morning and enjoyed a three-hour ride around the west side of Cullman County and parts of Winston.

Despite the heat, Barton and the other riders reported having a great ride.

Members of the Elks Lodge stayed behind and prepared lunch for the returning riders. Due to COVID-19, lunch was served outside on the lodge’s patio.
