Anthony “Mark” Wright, 48, of Holly Pond, AL passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020 in Dallas, TX.

Mark was a huge country music and Crimson Tide fan. He was also an artist and would draw lifelike photos of Hank Williams, Sr., Conway Twitty and his beloved mother. Mark loved to play guitar, write songs and sing. He never met a stranger and would buy meals for the homeless or share his food with them. He didn’t want anyone to go hungry. He had a huge heart. Mark loved his family and Alabama.

Mark was born Nov. 19, 1971 in Cullman, AL to Rev. Dalton James “DJ” and Shelly Faustine Parrish Wright.

He was raised in Holly Pond, AL.

Mark is preceded in death by his father Rev. Dalton James “DJ” Wright and sister Wanda Sue Townson.

He is survived by his mother Shelly Faustine Parrish Wright Carter; brothers Timothy “Tim” (Denise) Wright and James “Jimmy” Wright; sisters Ann (Junior) Goodno and Cathy (Michael) Kilgo; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at Moss Service Funeral Home Sunday, July 19, 2020 at 2 p.m. They will receive friends Sunday from 1 p.m. until the service time at Moss Service Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
