GOOD HOPE, Ala. – Karma in Cullman got a boost Saturday as car and motorcycle enthusiasts came together at Adapris Pizza in Good Hope for a benefit car and motorcycle show.

Karma Director Rachel Fillmore told The Tribune, “Today, we’re here with Explicit Perceptionz Car Club and Knights of the Brotherhood (motorcycle club, often called KOTB). These guys are here today to help do a car show, bike show to help Karma raise some money and, right now, the money is going to go towards our back-to-school project, where we’re going to try to help kids go back to school with five outfits of clothing, shoes, backpacks and supplies.

“This year is going to be much more important than it has in years past, because this year, we’re going to have families that’s never needed help before, that’s going to be needing help. So these guys- this is the second year we’ve done it with Explicit Perceptionz, and we cannot thank these guys enough for helping us.”

Trey Davis of Explicit Perceptionz said, “We just try to help out any way that we can with the community. Karma’s been there to help a lot. We decided when we first started that we wanted to try to do something to make a difference. We did it last year; this year, we decided we’re going to try to make it an annual thing and do it every year, and we brought KOTB on board as well, to help out, help get them involved with us, and try to make it something even bigger and just reach out to the community and get much more diversity out of everything this time.”

Gesturing to Davis, KOTB’s “Papa Bear,” Nicklous Brown, told The Tribune, “This is an opportunity my brother give me to bring my club up here and do this. It’s our first year; it’s a learning curve for us, but we want to put it out there. We want to be more involved with the community that we live in, to be a part of it. That’s why we’re here today.”

Fillmore added a special note of thanks to Adapris Pizza “for allowing us to take over their parking lot and feeding us really good food today!”

Karma in Cullman will begin signing children up for its back-to-school program in the next two weeks, starting around July 21. The group usually serves approximately 150 kids, but Fillmore expects to see more this year.
