CULLMAN, Ala. – A Huntsville man was killed in a crash on Interstate 65 in Cullman County Wednesday afternoon. Cullman County Coroner Jeremy L. Kilpatrick confirmed the fatality.

The name of the victim will be released when next of kin is located.

Alabama State Troopers said the crash happened at 4:30 p.m.

The victim was driving a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser north on Interstate 65 near mile marker 311 when he collided with a 2009 Honda Accord. The PT Cruiser overturned in the median and landed in the southbound lanes.

The victim, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and seriously injured. He was transported to Cullman Regional where he died of his injuries.

The driver of the Honda was not injured. 

All four lanes of the interstate were closed following the crash.
