HOLLY POND, Ala. – Two people were arrested following a pursuit that began near Colony and ended in Holly Pond Sunday evening along Brooklyn Road. The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) said in a statement the pursuit began after deputies responded to a burglary in progress call.

Brandon Chase Mosley, 20, of Hanceville and Dalton Lane Herfurth, 21, of Vinemont were apprehended at the scene.

Deputies pursued the suspects’ vehicle along Alabama Highway 91, using spike strips to disable the vehicle as it approached Holly Pond.

“I have spoken to the deputies and they did a tremendous job apprehending these suspects while keeping the safety of our citizens at the forefront,” said Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry.

Mosley is charged with second-degree burglary, first-degree theft of property, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and numerous traffic infractions.

Herfurth is charged with second-degree burglary, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both are being held at the Cullman County Detention Center without bond.

The CCSO said in a statement, “(We) would like to thank the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Hanceville Police Department (HPD) and the Cullman Police Department (CPD), who assisted in the arrest of these two suspects.”
