Charles Leo Waid, Sr., 79, of Arley entered into rest Saturday, June 13, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Charles was born Oct. 16, 1940 in Arley, Alabama.
He lived his life in Arley and was proud to be a Meek Tiger, having graduated in 1959. Charles is a member of the Winston County Sports Hall of Fame and longtime member of Arley First Baptist Church. He enjoyed time in the woods, spending most of his working years as a logger.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at Arley First Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held Friday, June 19, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Arley First Baptist Church Cemetery, Brother Junior Garmon officiating.
Charles is survived by his son Charles Leo Waid, Jr. and his wife Melodie White Waid; grandsons Charles Preston Waid and James Daniel Waid; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Maybell Grimmett Waid; parents Doyal W. Waid and Willie Peppers Waid; and sister Kathryn Waid Garland.
