CULLMAN, Ala. – The second Saturday of June marks the Pentastar South Car Club’s annual Mopar show. The show was previously held at the Cullman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership, then at Depot Park once it outgrew the dealership lot; now the show will take over Sportsman Lake Park this Saturday, June 13 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

Besides giving car enthusiasts a chance to show off and see some sweet rides, the show also raises money for a good cause. Pentastar South is working with the Mopar Misfits of Alabama, the Birmingham Mopar Owner’s Club and other Mopar owners to raise money for Secret Meals for Hungry Children. This charity was created by the Alabama Credit Union in 2008 to decrease the number of students who face hunger at home on the weekends. In previous years, the show has raised more than $10,000 to benefit children in Cullman County.

Brenda Allison, the event’s organizer, announced a few changes and some special features to this year’s show on the Pentastar South Facebook page. First, the show will allow cars that are not Mopar-powered to be shown, but owners will be asked for a donation in order to show the cars and they will not be eligible for any awards.

Of the reason for this change, Allison posted, “Like us they have worked hard on their cars and just want them to be seen. We will welcome them to our community of car lovers.”

Second, there will be a raffle ($10 per ticket) for an HP Chromebook.

Finally, Herb McCandless and the Dukes of Hazzard Museum will be at the show this year.

Registration on the day of the show is $25. For more information, email Allison at brenda.allison@gmail.com or visit www.facebook.com/groups/616255698449046.
