Glenda Ann Sapp Doss, 81, passed away peacefully in her home Sunday, June 7, 2020 after a 15-year battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 18, 1939 to Euel A. Sapp and Marjorie T. Sapp on Shelton Grove Mountain, Cullman County, AL.
She attended Sacred Heart (Cullman) College and graduated from Auburn University in 1961. Glenda taught business education classes at West Point High School in Cullman County most of her career. She ended her teaching career at the Cullman County Vocational Center.
Glenda was an artist and saw beauty in the world around her. She was a musician and played both piano and accordion. She was a talented cook and baker, and graciously shared meals and baked goods with family, friends and neighbors. She was a loving friend and a generous, thoughtful servant. She loved the Lord and enjoyed serving as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher.
Glenda is survived by her husband of almost 61 years, Jack Morrow Doss; her son Morrow Doss and his wife Laura; her daughter Glenda Michelle Doss; her son Logan Doss and his wife Leah; granddaughter Leah Doss Lewis and her husband Forrest; granddaughter Emma Doss Fry and her husband Kendrick; grandsons lan lrvine and lsaak lrvine; granddaughters Anabela Doss and Ava Doss; and great-grandson Travis Morrow Lewis. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
The Celebration of Life Service will be a small, graveside service for close family and friends Friday, June 12, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Good Hope Cemetery in Good Hope, Alabama.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at stjude.org under Glenda Doss, or a hospice organization of your choosing.
