CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman’s Miracle League for special needs athletes will get a visit at the Field of Miracles Saturday, June 13 from the Saints Motorcycle Club of Cullman County as the club takes a fundraising ride through the area. The club will leave from the Cullman Elks Lodge around 11 a.m. and will pass by the Field of Miracles before heading out of town.
The Saints have raised more than $20,000 in the last few years to support the Miracle League.
Kelly Pulliam of Cullman Parks, Recreation and Sports Tourism’s Therapeutic Recreation program told The Tribune, “Friends of the Miracle League raising the funds has allowed all Miracle League players to play for free during the spring season and sometimes the fall, too. Many families are now able to sign up since the registration fees are already paid for by the group. We have definitely seen an increase in number of players over the years, and I believe it’s because of the efforts of the Friends of the Miracle League. They mean everything to the Miracle League and we can’t wait to cheer for the Saints MC of Cullman County as they drive by all of us.”
Miracle League athletes are encouraged to wear their sports uniforms and bring “thank you” signs to show the riders. Cars should be at the field by 10:45, and families should remain in their cars.
