CCSO pursuit ends in crash, injuries

CULLMAN COUNTY, Ala. – A pursuit involving the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) Tuesday resulted in a crash with three reported injuries. One patient was airlifted to an area hospital and two were transported by ambulance to area hospitals. The three injured parties were in a vehicle being pursued by a CCSO deputy.

No identities have been released.

The incident occurred northwest of Fairview in the vicinity of County Roads 1526 and 1527 near Macedonia Church of Christ.

The CCSO released the following statement:

“Late this afternoon, May 19, 2020, a Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputy initiated a traffic stop for a traffic violation in the Fairview community. The vehicle fled up County Road 1527 and was involved in a single-car accident near the Cullman/Morgan County line. Updates to follow as they become available.”

The CCSO on Wednesday said charges may be pending.
