Obituary: Leah Patterson Lust

Leah Page Patterson Lust, of Cullman passed away April 25, 2020. She was born to Edward “Pat” and Carol (Stallings) Patterson Jan. 14, 1971.

Her grandparents Robert and Mavis Stallings and Luther and Mary Patterson preceded her in death.

Leah was a 1989 graduate of West Point High School. She later graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the School of Social Work. During her career, Leah was employed by Cullman Regional Medical Center as the Director of Social Work. She was later elected and served as Probate Judge of Cullman County from 2006 through 2012. Leah served on numerous local boards and committees including Cullman Caring for Kids, Bosom Buddies and United Way Daystar House. She also served on state committees with an appointment from Governor Don Siegelman and a recent appointment by Governor Kay Ivey to the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services.

Those Leah left to cherish her memory include her husband Michael Lust; parents Pat and Carol Patterson; brother Eddie (Mary) Patterson; brothers-in-law John (Cathy) Lust and Kevin (Cris) Lust; and nieces Mary Kathryn (Andy) Colbert and Sarah Beth (Conner) Thigpen.

There will be a private family graveside for Mrs. Leah Patterson Lust, which will be available on the Moss Service Funeral Home Facebook Page, Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at 2 p.m.
