 Barbara Whitehead, Phelan

“In my free time now, I’ve had time to sit and play my guitar, work on some new songs, done some house work that I’ve put off for a long time, did a lot of calling to check up on family and friends. Some, I hadn’t talked to in a long time. I’ve sat out in my yard and so enjoyed just sitting there. Something I never seem to have time to do. I’ve worked on my bird houses. I’ve not done anything great, but even though all this bad stuff is going on, I have been enjoying slowing down for a while.  My life has always been in the fast lane. I never get bored; I can always find something I love to do. Oh yes, I also have spent a lot more time reading my Bible, and praying for my family and friends that God would keep them all well. I went fishing today, down on the dam, didn’t catch anything but sure enjoyed being out there.”

Charlie and Nelda Powell, Cullman

“Charlie and I are staying very busy, working in our house. I have been doing some deep cleaning. I never realized there was so much dust in the world. Ha. We are discarding some furniture and going to buy new, when stores open back up. I’ve been cooking (ugh) and Charlie posts pictures of our meals on his wall. I miss volunteering at Hilltop and my water aerobics and will be glad to get back to them.”

Wayne Roberts, Cullman County (north of Vinemont)

“I’m just doing yard work, and a little practice on the guitar for fun. My wife and I start each day with ‘Let’s talk about food.’”
