HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Wallace State has been officially recognized as a National Society of Leadership Success Chapter, and outstanding student leaders across campus are being invited to the join National Society of Leadership and Success, a national student leadership honor society also known as Sigma Alpha Pi.
Students are recommended for membership by faculty based on their outstanding leadership potential and academic achievement. Those who are selected for membership this semester will have received an invitation to join the organization by email as well as by mail. The deadline for acceptance is April 3. Students who choose to accept this prestigious honor will be well-positioned to maximize leadership skills, take part in the society’s leadership building program, and distinguish themselves among their peers to future employers.
Membership is for life and includes benefits including scholarships and awards, an online job bank, discounts on computers and textbooks, and more.
Wallace State also introduced Wallace Leads this semester, an on-campus student leadership institute. Designation as a National Society of Leadership Success Chapter complements the College’s dedication to developing future leaders. These initiatives are directed by Wallace State’s Dean of Students, Dr. Ryan Smith.
The NSLS is the nation’s largest leadership honor society. In addition to honorable distinction, the NSLS provides a step-by-step program for members to build their leadership skills through participation at their campus or online. Upon completion of the program, members receive their leadership certificate and take their place among the top student leaders at their campus and across the country. Members are able to list their affiliation on all statements of personal accomplishment, including their resume.
Membership provides access to benefits including scholarships and awards, exclusive on-campus events, employer recruitment through an online job bank, and discounts on computers, textbooks, grad school prep courses, insurance and much more.
