The City of Cullman will enforce the social distancing measures outlined in the Amended Order of the State Health Officer Suspending Certain Public Gatherings Due to Risk of Infection by COVID-19 (link), which include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • All non-work-related gatherings of 25 persons or more, or gatherings of any size that cannot maintain a consistent 6-foot distance between persons, are prohibited. This includes any gathering, event, or activity that brings 25 or more persons in a single room or single space at the same time.
  • On-premises consumption of food or drink at all restaurants, bars, breweries, or similar establishments is prohibited. Such establishments may continue to offer food for take-out or delivery provided the social distancing protocols, including maintaining a consistent six-foot distance between persons, are followed.
  • All senior citizen centers and gathering places shall be closed.
  • All schools, public and private (elementary, secondary, post-secondary, technical or specialty, colleges, universities, etc.), shall be closed.
  • All preschools and childcare centers, excluding those outlined in Section 4(b) of the Order, shall be closed.
  • All hospitals, nursing home/long term care facilities (including assisted living and specialty care assisted living facilities), shall prohibit visitation of all visitors and non-essential health care personnel, except for certain compassionate care situations such as maternity and end-of-life.

The City of Cullman is serious about reducing the threat of COVID-19 in our community, and the Cullman Police Department urges everyone to adhere to the above-referenced Order. Those found violating the Order could receive a non-traffic citation, resulting in court costs and fines of at least $208.

Let’s all do our part to help “flatten the curve” by adhering to this Order, by limiting our social interaction as much as possible, and by following all of the social distancing protocols recommended by the CDC, the State Board of Health, and other health organizations.
