CULLMAN, Ala. – Earlier today, Cullman High School was on “heightened awareness” after a threat was allegedly made against one student by another, according to multiple sources. The student who allegedly made the threat was not on campus.

“The safety of our students is always our number one priority. ‘Heightened awareness’ is implemented when there is potential for an unusual situation,” said CHS Principal Kim Hall. “Today, we deemed it necessary to implement a ‘Heightened Awareness’ protocol in order to ensure the safety of our students. We will always err on the side of caution in matters pertaining to student safety. As always, we appreciate the support and diligence of the Cullman Police Department.”

According to Hall, “heightened awareness” means students were kept in their classrooms. The protocol lasted for approximately an hour.
