Coylene Swann Wall McGeehon lived a fulfilling life as a faithful Christ follower and a loving mother to three children, Clarice, Denise and Leta. Coylene was married to her late husband Charlie McGeehon, the love of her life, and shared a bonus son, as she called him, Dale. She loved her family, her friends and her community. Mom enjoyed God’s creation through extensive travels, reading the Word, learning and being at home to watch over her flowers. Coylene will be missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know her; she was a treasure.

Coylene was raised in Hayden, Alabama, just north of Birmingham. She spent her early years raising her girls with their dad, Charles Wall, in Gardendale where they were members of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. It was during this time she gave so much of herself caring for patients at NorthWay Gardendale Nursing Home and as the administrator of Summers Landing.

Later in life, Coylene met Charlie, one of the most loving and kind people on God’s earth. Together they settled in Orange Beach and spent time between relaxing by the water, loving their extended family, traveling the world with friends and visiting family in Birmingham.

Coylene was preceded in death by parents Coy and Lorene Thomas Swann; brother Coy Swann, Jr.; and sisters Betty Carol Reburn and Sue Daily.

She is survived by her daughters Clarice Zelenak (Bill Zelenak), Denise Romano, and Leta Parsons Osborn (Mike Osborn); sister Janet Smithson (Drennon) and her twin brother, Gerald Swann (Shirley); seven grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Coylene requested donations to Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 12 at Oak Grove Baptist Church on Highway 9 in Hayden, AL 35079. Visitors will be welcome for visitation from 10 a.m. on. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m.
