FAIRVIEW, Ala. – The Fairview Senior Center received a gift of love Thursday morning from their neighbors at Kingdom Life Church. The group was treated to a delicious spaghetti lunch. The senior center also crowned its Valentine King and Queen.

Cora Harris was chosen as the new queen and Michael Stidham was selected as king. Their court included first runners-up Lora and Huey Ray and second runners-up Wallace and Carol Pearson.

Kingdom Life Church Pastor Heath Tinker said, “We just want to be a part of the community. We just want to help. Just loving on people. We brought spaghetti and salads and homemade cakes. Some of our seniors at the church cooked some of the cakes.”

Helping serve the seniors lunch from Kingdom Life Church were David and Faye Jester and Tinker and his wife Nikki.

“We want to affect our area with the love of Christ and helping people,” Tinker added.

While the dinner was being prepared, the Fairview seniors squeezed in a few practice innings of beanbag baseball as the get ready to take on the Sizzlin’ Seniors of Good Hope Feb. 25.
