John Henry Bolan, 81, of Houston, Alabama passed away Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020.
He was born in Lawrence County, Alabama Sept. 25, 1938 to James Henry and Frances Weaver Bolan.
John was retired from Littrell Lumber Mill where he worked at the planer mill as a Millwright for over 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, going to the thrift store, playing solitaire, sitting on the porch, and his family.
Visitation will be held at New Home Baptist Church in the Moreland Community Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020 from noon-2 p.m. where service will begin at 2 p.m. Brother Wayne Bumgart and Brother Danny Page will officiate. Burial will be in the Moreland Cemetery.
John is survived by his wife of 60 years Loree Blankenship Bolan; daughter Lynn Bolan Tidwell and husband William; son Tim Bolan and wife Emily; grandchildren Jessica Earlene Tidwell Webb and husband Nate, Tyler Tidwell, Lili Bolan, Kenzi Bolan, and Emma Bolan; great-grandchildren Madilynn Webb and Mereydth Webb; and siblings Wilma McLemore, Leamon Bolan, Mary Johnson, Dorothy (Glenn) Latham, Inez Alexander, and Raymond Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his father James Henry Bolan; mother Frances Bolan Johnson; step-dad Elmer Johnson; and brothers and sisters Pauline Alexander, Hazel Welborn, Frank Bolan, Billy Johnson, and Jimmy Johnson.
