VINEMONT, Ala. – Starting today, Cullman Area Technology Academy (CATA) Auto Collision Repair teacher Timmy Calvert and his students will be displaying a truck at the World of Wheels Expo in Birmingham. The team will exhibit in a student category to show off the custom paint and finish job they performed in the CATA shop.
CATA Principal Billy Troutman told The Tribune, “It’s a great student entry that showcases some of their skills, as far as paint goes, so I’m excited for them.
“I’m really proud of these students for their determination and getting this vehicle ready to go to the show. They really have done an incredible job with the paint and finish they’ve done on the vehicle. And some of the process is really cool, because of the way they had to use some effects that just aren’t normal, and so it’s not like they just sprayed the vehicle; there was a lot of other cool things going on. So I’m really proud of them, and proud of Mr. Calvert’s leadership, too.”
