Funeral services for Emmitt B. Melton will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020 at Hanceville Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville. The family will welcome friends for a visitation Saturday, Feb. 8 prior to the service beginning at noon.
Mr. Melton is survived by his wife Marie Melton; children Mickey G. (Loretta) Melton and Sherry Melton (Daniel J.) Davis; grandchildren Michael Scott Dynes, Lisa M. Janick, and Lori Melton; great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Melton is preceded in death by his parents Allen and Hattie (Pitman) Melton; sisters Gladys Westimayer, Elzora Quick, Vera Ballard, Ila Melton, and Lila Melton; and brothers Oliver Melton, R.B. Melton, and Leslie Melton.
The family would like to thank Hope Hospice and special thank you to Vicki Alexander for their care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital and to the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation.
