City school board recognizes members, faculty, athletes

CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman City School Board Tuesday evening recognized several on a day the schools also recognized the board for all it does. January is School Board Recognition Month and the Cullman City School Board was treated to a luncheon at Cullman High School.

“It was really nice,” Superintendent Dr. Susan Patterson said “We had several that stood with their art work and we got to look at their art work. They had the chorus singing and the piano player. We really enjoyed it.”

Students from Cullman City Primary School also participated in showing the school board appreciation by sending fun artwork to decorate the board room.

Patterson presented certificates of appreciation to each of the Cullman City School Board members including President Joey Orr, Vice President Chris Branham, Suzanne Harbin, Jason Neal and Lee Powell.

The seventh and eighth grade Cullman Middle School volleyball teams were recognized for their impressive undefeated seasons. Both teams are coached by Leann Evans, who also reached the milestone of 300 victories this season.

The board also congratulated East Elementary School principal David Wiggins for being chosen as the 2020 National Distinguished Principal for District 1 (Alabama)
