Barry Gene Odom, 57, of Arley passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.
Mr. Odom was born Dec. 13, 1962 in Jasper.
Barry lived in Arley and took an active part in his church and community. He was a kind and gentle person who was always happy and never met a stranger. Barry loved Meek sports, especially Meek Toy Bowl, serving as their manager. He was a big fan of Alabama football. At age 3, he began his schooling at the Shrine School in Jasper. At age 7, Barry started further education at the Alabama School for the Deaf in Talladega; graduating in May 1984.
Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Arley Congregational Christian Church, with funeral to follow at 1 p.m. Reverend Robert Partridge and Doctor Tim Noland will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Barry is survived by his mother Annie Odom Evans; uncle Willard (Shelby) Wadsworth; aunts Nola Key, Loree Peppers and Gwenda (Thomas) Tidwell; special friend Shirley Martin; and a host of cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Roy Lee Odom; an infant brother; and grandparents Milford and Flora Wadsworth and Buel and Evelyn Odom.
