Wreck sends 2 to hospital

CULLMAN, Ala. – A two-vehicle wreck Tuesday evening east of the city of Cullman injured two people. The crash happened at 5:25 p.m. in the intersection of U.S. Highway 278 and Alabama Highway 69.

According to Cullman Police Sgt. Joey Duncan, Richard Dabbs, 46, was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado east on Hwy. 278 attempting to make a left turn to go north on Hwy. 69. 

Duncan said Stacy Long, 44, was driving a 2014 Ford Edge westbound on Hwy. 278. 

The two vehicles collided in the intersection.

Long and her front-seat passenger, Pat Roden, 67, were transported to Cullman Regional by ambulance for treatment of injuries they sustained in the crash.

Cullman EMS and Cullman Fire Rescue assisted at the scene. An AirEvac helicopter was in the area but was not needed.

CPD Officer Hunter Potts is leading the investigation.
