CULLMAN, Ala. – January is National Soup Month and Westminster Assisted Living is collecting cans of soup now until Jan. 10 to support the Cullman Caring for Kids United Way food bank. Westminster is asking the public to help by dropping off cans of soup at its main office at 1020 Olive St. SW in Cullman.
On Jan.10, the directors of Cullman Caring for Kids will visit Westminster where they and the residents will enjoy a soup bar.
Ashley Uptagrafft, activities director for Westminster, said, “Cullman Caring for Kids will provide us with a presentation about their organization and we will present them with the cans of soup we have collected. We are hoping to have a great positive impact with this event.”
The residents of Westminster look for fun and creative ways to continue being active and engaged in their community. The soup drive is just one of several giving efforts planned this year.
Uptagrafft added, “We hope people will also share their favorite soup recipes with us and letters of encouragement.”
