CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Animal Shelter has had a wonderful holiday season. Things are going so well, The Tribune’s last Pet of the Week, Bruno, was adopted before our Tuesday paper even hit the newsstands! There are still animal companions waiting for their merry Christmas, though, so Donna Ruttkay shares a bonus Cullman Tribune Pet of the Week:

Bob is a 1-year-old bobtailed Bulldog mix. He’s a laid-back, low- to medium-energy pet who enjoys human company without crowding his people. Ruttkay describes him as an “unassuming fellow who is patient and very quiet in his kennel.” He’s developing his leash skills and has a good appetite.

Bob has the makings of a good therapy, hiking or companion dog.

Bob’s adoption fee is $90 which includes: DHLPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccines, rabies vaccine, wormer, general exam at the vet, neutering, microchip, free 30-day health insurance policy issued by 24PetWatch (with valid email only) and a free bag of food from Cullman Pet Depot (you must pay sales tax).

Animal shelter staff and volunteers work with their dogs to make sure they are accustomed to being around people, walking on a leash and practicing good behavior. Several of the shelter’s dogs have even been “hired” to work as therapy and special needs service dogs.

Please consider adopting, to give a rescued pet a chance at a happy and healthy life.
