Kimberly Diane Mathews, 42, passed away Dec. 16, 2019 at her home in Arley, Alabama.
She was born July 20, 1977 and married James Mathews June 22, 1997.
Kim is survived by her husband James as well as her father Danny Fields; mother Carol Whaley; sons Javan (Makayla) Mathews and Noah Mathews; step-son Mark Mathews; granddaughters Harper Rose Peppers and Audrey Mathews; brothers Cody Fields, Dusty Ragsdale, Cory McKenna, Joshua Lane and Nolan Fields; nephew Kevin Fields; niece Ellie McDonald-Fields; mother-in-law Linda Mathews; sister-in-law Carrie Mathews; and a host of other family members and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison. Service will be on Friday at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be at Old Bethel Cemetery in Arley, Alabama.
Kim was preceded in death by her grandfather and grandmother Dearl and Evelyn Fields; grandfather and grandmother Nolan “Brownie” and Janet Thomas; and niece Adalyn Fields.
Kim was a graduate of Meek High School and worked a brief time as a CNA before taking on the role of a full-time wife and mother. She has always shown concern for the well-being of others and especially enjoyed her time spent with Aunt Judy. She had an uncanny ability to remember dates, never seemed to forget a birthday and will be remembered for always reminding us we are getting older, bless her. Kim will be deeply missed. She loved collecting cookbooks and recipes as well as drawing.
Pallbearers are Gabe Jones, Micah Godfrey, Thomas Heath, Nolan Fields, Mark Mathews, Grant Ward, Bradley Thomas and Seth Hankins.
