Backed by the Wallace State Jazz Band, the Wallace State Singers share the stage with Santa Claus during the 2018 Christmas Spectacular. The 2019 Christmas Spectacular will be on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. in the Betty Leeth Haynes Theatre. Admission is free. (WSCC)

Sportsman Lake Park Winter Wonderland

5-9:30 p.m. Guests can drive through the park or park and experience the extra attractions including train rides, carriage rides and sleigh rides. Parents can take pictures of their kids with Santa or purchase a 5×7 photo in a souvenir frame for $5. The cost is $10 (cash only) per vehicle, regardless of how many people are in it.

The schedule for the Sportsman Lake Park Winter Wonderland: December- Wednesday-Sunday: 5-9:30 p.m.; Dec. 23 is the last day for Santa and the train; Closed Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day; Dec. 26-29- Drive through only: 5-9:30 p.m.

Dr. Herman C. Ensor Lights of Love Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

5:30 p.m. in the Colonel Cullmann Room in Professional Office Building II at Cullman Regional

This year’s event is dedicated to the memory of Amy Drake, who passed away in September at the age of 42. Organizers will honor and pay tribute to Drake during the ceremony.

Christmas music will be performed by the First United Methodist Sanctuary Choir and Kids Choir.  Also performing will be Dr. Joe Johnson, Dr. David Shupe, Kate Shupe and Ken Simpson.  The evening will conclude with the lighting of the Christmas tree atop the medical center.  Light refreshments will be served during and after the ceremony.

Cullman Women Sing Concert

Cullman Women Sing will present “With a Voice of Singing” Thursday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. This free concert will be at Seventh Street Baptist Church.


Wallace State Fine and Performing Arts Christmas Spectacular

7 p.m. in the Betty Leeth Haynes Theatre. Admission is free and open to the public.

A wide variety of musical styles will be featured during the performance, as the Wallace State Jazz Band, Concert Band, Singers and Choir come together to perform Christmas classics, with a special appearance by SingKids!, a group of students in grades 3-8 who are participating in the Fall 2019 ArtsKids! program.

From “Up on a Housetop” and “Hot Chocolate” from the movie “Polar Express” to “Silent Night” and Hassler’s “Angelus ad Pastores” there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
