CULLMAN, Ala. – On Tuesday morning, Downtown Nutrition officially opened for business at 324 Second Ave. SE in Cullman with a ribbon cutting sponsored by the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce. The shop specializes in meal replacement and protein shakes, as well as herbal energy teas.
Owner Dusty Stanley told The Tribune, “The quick way to describe it is ‘healthy fast food!’ We do meal replacement, protein shakes. We have some post-workout shakes, we do loaded energy herbal teas, some beauty drinks for collagen. But our specialty is that we can create something special for our customers. We can add extra of what they need, we can take away the things that they don’t need. We really work with them one-on-one to create exactly what they’re looking for in nutrition.”
An Herbalife Nutrition distributor, Stanley was encouraged by her sister, who owns two similar shops in Mississippi.
According to Stanley, “She said, ‘I think Cullman would be a great place for this store. I lived in Cullman for 10 years; I love the community.’ And so, (it’s) one of those things where God just said, ‘Hey, this is where you’re going,’ so this is where I am.”
The shop held a soft opening on Black Friday, so Stanley has had a few days to see how the community’s reaction would be, and she told The Tribune, “It’s been good! It’s been steady. Everybody’s been real receptive. Everybody loves the idea of having a healthy option, something quick they can get and not feel so guilty as driving through a drive-through, so we’re excited and just keep looking forward to growing.”

- Saturday 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
