HANCEVILLE, Ala. — The Wallace State Fine and Performing Arts program will stage its annual Christmas Spectacular on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. in the Betty Leeth Haynes Theatre. Admission is free and open to the public.
A wide variety of musical styles will be featured during the performance, as the Wallace State Jazz Band, Concert Band, Singers and Choir come together to perform Christmas classics, with a special appearance by SingKids!, a group of students in grades 3-8 who are participating in the Fall 2019 ArtsKids! program.
From “Up on a Housetop” and “Hot Chocolate” from the movie “Polar Express” to “Silent Night” and Hassler’s “Angelus ad Pastores” there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
“The Christmas Spectacular is a great event for the whole family,” said Tiffany Richter, director of the Wallace State Singers and Choir. “Take a break from the hustle and bustle and enjoy an hour or so of musical entertainment. Plus, the children will get a kick seeing SpongeBob SquarePants and Santa Claus sing and dance to their favorite Christmas songs.”
Admission to the Christmas Spectacular is free and everyone is welcome. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. For more information, contact Heather Gillikin at 256.352.28277 or heather.gillikin@wallacestate.edu.
