PREP SWIMMING: Several Bearcat swimmers qualify for state at North Sectional Meet

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Cullman High School Swim Team was in the field at this year’s North Sectional Meet at the Huntsville Aquatics Center last weekend and several Bearcat swimmers will be advancing to the state competition. Cullman’s girls placed seventh in the 6A/7A division while the boys collected a 10th place finish. Some Bearcats put together season-best performances during the North Sectional. Ruby Hudson in the 100-yard freestyle, CJ Arnold in the 100-yard backstroke and the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Kelly Warren, Reese McNeel, Anna Page and Madison Clements left Huntsville with new school records and spots at the state meet in Auburn.

Other state qualifiers included Warren in the 1-meter dive, McNeel in the 1-meter dive, the 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relay teams of Arnold, Logan Holley, Brody Schaefer and Aubrey Helms, the 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle relay teams of Warren, McNeel, Hudson and Clements and the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Warren, McNeel, Clements and Page.

This year’s AHSAA State Swim and Dive Meet will be December 6 and 7 at Auburn University.
