HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Trips planned by the Wallace State Community College Alumni Association in 2020 extend beyond the boundaries of the continental United States. Along with trips to Charleston, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia, and Branson, Missouri, there is also a 10-night land and sea adventure to Alaska.
First up is the four-night Southern Charm Tour to Charleston and Savannah March 23-27. The trip includes tours of the Middleton Place Plantation, Drayton Hall, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Davenport Museum, as well as visits to the Savannah and Charleston Markets, the Angel Oak, Tybee Island, Byrd Cookie Company and Leopold’s Ice Cream, a Historic Haunts Trolley Tour, and meals at Paula Deen’s The Lady and Sons Restaurant and Creek House Seafood and Grill.
The cost per person ranges from $980 to $1,588 depending on occupancy and membership status. The cost includes motor coach transportation, four nights lodging, baggage handling, nine meals, all activities listed on the itinerary, taxes and most gratuities.

The Denali Experience in June and July will be a good way to take a break from the sweltering heat. The Alaska Land Cruise will be from June 23 to July 3, with stops in Denali National Park, Anchorage, Alaska Wildlife Center, Hubbard Glacier, Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway, as well as an Inside Passage Cruise.
Based on double occupancy, the cost per person ranges from $4,895 to $6,195 depending on cabin location and Alumni membership status. The cost includes roundtrip airfare, 10 nights lodging (three on land and seven aboard the Celebrity Millennium), 28 meals, professional tour and cruise manager, on-board cruise ship gratuities and all port charges, taxes and fees. Autumn brings a visit to Branson from Sept. 28-Oct. 2. Five theatre shows — including The Oak Ridge Boys — are included on the trip itinerary, along with visits to the National Birddog Museum, Dogwood Canyon National Park, College of the Ozarks and dinner at the Edgemont with HGTV’s Chris Olsen.
Rates range from $925 to $1,335 per person based on occupancy and membership status. Cost includes roundtrip deluxe motor coach transportation, four nights lodging, 11 meals, tour guide, luggage handling and all taxes and meal gratuities.

Registering and reserving space is encouraged in all tours as space is limited in most cases. Alumni Association members receive a $100 discount on all trips that include overnight stays. Membership is open to all and ranges from $25 for an annual membership to $250 for a lifetime membership. Current Wallace State students pay $15 for an annual membership.
