HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Cullman High School’s swim team was back in action this weekend for the 2019 North Alabama Championship and there were several standout individual performances from the Bearcat swimmers. The girls team took home fourth place at this year’s event while the boys team placed ninth out of 21 competing schools. CJ Arnold broke the CHS men’s team 100-yard backstroke record during Saturday’s competition and the girls 400-yard freestyle relay team of Kelly Warren, Reese McNeel, Madison Clements and Ruby Hudson set a new school record as well.
The CHS Swim Team will compete again on November 12th at the James Clemens Invitational to finish out the regular season.
Saturday’s top individual finishers:
CJ Arnold – 7th place 200-yard medley, 6th place 100-yard backstroke
Ruby Hudson – 5th place 50-yard freestyle, 7th place 100-yard freestyle
Madison Clements – 10th place 50-yard freestyle, 8th place 100-yard backstroke
Reese McNeel – 4th place 1-meter dive, 5th place 100-yard butterfly
Kelly Warren – 3rd place 1-meter dive, 10th place 100-yard breaststroke
Anna Page – 7th place 100-yard butterfly
Aubrey Helms – 5th place 100-yard butterfly
