Funeral services for Dessie Lee Barnes, 93, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, formerly of Cullman, Alabama will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2019 at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel, with interment in New Mt. Zion Cemetery, Minister Fount Lackey and Rev. Steve Rodgers officiating.
Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Barnes passed away Nov. 1, 2019. She was born Feb. 16, 1926 to Edward Daniel and Maudie Lee Waldrep Thornton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Calvin Barnes; a son Ray Barnes; granddaughter Wendy Shorter; five brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include her daughters Martha Ann (Larry) Goodall, Marie (Fount) Lackey; sister Elsie T. Holland; grandchildren Kim Goodall, Cendy (Jeff) Simpkins, Lori (Scooter) West, Ray Barnes, Jason Barnes; great-grandchildren Brittany (Adam) Jeffiers, Whitney (Dylan) Hilliard, Blake (Olivia) Simpkins, Hailey Barnes, J.J. Barnes, Zachary Barnes, Wyatt Hunter, Cali Hunter; great-great grandchildren Jett Jeffiers, Thomas Simpkins, Maverick Jeffiers, Remington Simpkins; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be Monday from noon-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
