Winnie Lee Rodgers, 91, of Addison entered into rest Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.
Winnie was born March 15, 1928 in Cullman, Alabama.
She was a lifetime member of Sardis No. 2 Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and canning.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison. She will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at Sardis No. 2 Baptist Church in the Sardis community with service to follow at 2 p.m. Reverend William McClellan will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Winnie is survived by her son Danny Rodgers and his wife Elaine; daughters Doris McCain and her husband Tony, and Kathy Brannon and her husband Charles; and sister-in-law Cora Pigg. She was Granny to five grandchildren, Lori (David) Slaton, Jeff (Julie) McCain, Amanda (Chad) Floyd, Allison (Shane) Tuggle, and John (Haley) Rodgers. She was “Granny Great” to nine great-grandchildren, Katie and Ben Slaton, Jennifer and Jack McCain, Ty and Dave Tuggle, Cole, Audrey and Cooper Floyd, and Natalie Rodgers.
She was preceded in death by her husband Orbie Rodgers; grandson David Brannon; parents General David and Alena Cole Pigg; brothers George, Jessie, Ralph, Dallas, Buck and Russ Pigg; and sisters Jewell Hudson, Marie Bartlett and Edna Cutcher.
