Anita Faye (Peggy) Nyquist of Cullman went to be with her Heavenly Father Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019.
Peggy was born in Lenoir City, Tennessee Feb. 16, 1935 to Paul and Elene Newberry.
At an early age her family moved to southern California where she would meet her husband, John. They were married in Pasadena, California Aug. 2, 1957.
In 1967 Peggy and John became lifelong staff members with Campus Crusade for Christ and moved to Atlanta, Georgia, then to West Germany, and then to Lake Zurich, Illinois for 35 years where John was on the faculty at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. At retirement Peggy and John relocated to Cullman, where they have lived since 2010.
Peggy is preceded in death by her daughter, Robin, and her parents. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John; son, Steve; daughter-in-law, Kristi (Knight); sister, Rosemary Heydel (Ted); sister, Judy Bilecki; four grandchildren: James (Jillian), John (Audrey), Cooper and Katherine, and three great-grandchildren: Brooks, Marcie and Pryor.
Visitation will be at Christ Covenant Presbyterian Church in Cullman Friday, Nov. 1, 2019 from noon-1:45 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following at 2 p.m. She will be buried at the Cullman City Cemetery.
