Alvin D. Taylor, 61, of Haleyville, formerly of Fayette, passed away Monday, Oct. 28, 2019 at Lakeland Community Hospital.
He was born Jan. 12, 1958 to L.D. and Donnie Lee Taylor.
He graduated from Kennedy High School where he was a lineman on the football team. He worked at Oakley Logging Company as a supervisor and he was a member of Solid Rock Church for several years. He enjoyed Alabama Football and logging, he loved his many friends, to travel, and he loved his grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville and Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019 from 1-2 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, Fayette, where the service will be at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in the Belk Community in Fayette County.
Alvin is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ellen Taylor; he was Grandpa to seven grandchildren; he was Poppa to three great-grandchildren, Samuel Davis, Victoria Davis, and Jordyn Manley; aunts, uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. and Donnie Lee Taylor; sister, Linda Ann; and brother, Kenneth Taylor.
