CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman Police Department (CPD) has been busy planning for one of its favorite yearly events. The CPD Trunk or Treat will be Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 5-8 p.m. at the police department (601 Second Ave. NE). The event is sponsored by Merchants Bank.
“Man, we are so excited. We’ve got this big, brand new entrance built, but I can’t tell you what it is,” said a happy Sgt. Adam Clark. “If you want to know what it is, you’ll have to come out.”
Besides the new mystery entrance, the night of fun will feature CPD and Cullman Fire Rescue vehicles, helicopters and officers there to have a great time. The CPD has lots of great things in store for the trick or treaters this year.
Said Clark, “We have a DJ (DJ Jammin Jeff), and we already have our candy purchased. We bought a pallet of candy at Wal-Mart, and I hope that’s enough. We got pretty close to running out last year, so I bought a little more this year.”
Cullman Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism is also getting in on the fun and will be bringing its trailer of games for the kids to play. The games will be set up in the grassy area in front of the police department. There will be inflatables and great activities.
Parking will be in the large parking lot next to the CPD, with the trunk or treat in the front parking lot.
Clark hopes everyone will come out Tuesday evening.
“It’s going to be a good time,” he said. “This is one of our favorite things we do every year. Get here as early as you can because there’s usually a big line. We put a lot into it this year. We all enjoy it so much; we try to make it bigger and bigger each year.”
