SULLIGENT, Ala. – After suffering a tough loss at home to Tarrant last week, the Cold Springs Eagles hit the road Thursday night for the long trip to Sulligent. The Eagles found themselves in a deep hole early on and weren’t able to overcome the Sulligent lead, falling 36-7.

An interception gave Sulligent some early momentum that led to an 85-yard touchdown and an early 7-0 lead. A second score just a few plays later made it 14-0 and Sulligent managed to find the end zone one more time in the opening quarter to take a 21-0 lead into the second. A Dylan Gable interception momentarily stopped the bleeding for Cold Springs, but Sulligent managed to get on the board one more time before the break and take a 27-0 lead in the locker room at halftime.

A safety stretched the lead to 29-0 early in the third quarter and that score held by the start of the fourth. Sulligent tacked on another score to go ahead 36-0, and despite a Jordan Lacey touchdown cutting the lead to 36-7, it was too little too late for the Eagles and they were sent home with a 36-7 loss.

Cold Springs will wrap up the regular season at home next week against the Vinemont Eagles in a Halloween matchup.
